Kelsie Kerr is an acclaimed chef and teacher known for her simple, seasonal cooking. Standard Fare brings together her talents as a warm, gracious host; inspired chef; and passionate advocate for small farmers, organic agriculture, and the right to eat well.
Over the past three decades, she has contributed to the success of several well-loved, highly-regarded SF Bay Area restaurants, notably Chez Panisse, Café Rouge, and Zuni Café. In addition to her years overseeing the kitchen at Chez Panisse, Kelsie co-authored with Alice Waters “The Art of Simple Food” and “The Art of Simple Food II.”
Kelsie operated an intimate cooking school in her San Francisco home, receiving rave reviews from students and media alike. She later designed the kitchen and curriculum for the cooking school at Cavallo Point at Fort Baker in Marin County.
